General Information On Valturna
Valturna is used for the treatment of high blood pressure in hypertensive patients. The active ingredients in the medicine are Valsartan and Aliskiren, and they belong to the class of anti-hypertensive medicines.
Aliskiren works by reducing substances in the patient’s body that are responsible for raising blood pressure by narrowing the blood vessels. Valsartan improves blood flow and lowers blood pressure.
You can buy Valturna online in the form of oral tablets.
Side effects of Valturna
Do not buy Valturna if you are suffering from any of the following medical conditions:
- Liver or kidney disease
- High potassium levels in your blood
- Congestive heart failure
- Heart disease
- Recent heart attack
- If you are following a low-sodium diet
Your doctor will not advise you to buy Valturna if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. This medicine can cause birth defects in your child, especially if taken during the last 2 trimesters of a pregnancy. Use a reliable form of contraception during Valturna treatment.
Some common side effects associated with Valturna include:
- Tiredness
- Sore throat, stuffy nose, cough
- Stomach upset, pain, heartburn or diarrhea
- Muscle cramps
- Tingly or numb feeling
Seek immediate medical help if you develop muscle weakness, weak pulse, or slow heart rate. These can be signs of a serious underlying condition.
Drinking alcohol during Valturna treatment may significantly lower your blood pressure. Therefore, you should avoid alcohol intake while taking Valturna.
Do not use any potassium supplements or salt substitutes during Valturna treatment, as they may deprive you of the needed salt, and your blood pressure may plummet. Inform your doctor beforehand if you are using any of these at present.
Some hypersensitive patients may develop an allergic reaction to Valturna. Symptoms of an allergy include hives, facial swelling, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. Seek immediate medical help and discontinue using Valturna if you have any of these symptoms after taking Valturna.
Dosage of Valturna
Usually, your doctor will advise you to take one Valturna tablet once a day. However, the dosage depends on the severity of your condition and your response to treatment.
You can take the table with or without meals. If you are taking it with meals, you should avoid taking high-fat foods during treatment, as they may make it difficulty for your body to absorb Valturna. Try to take the tablet at almost the same time each day.
First signs of improvement are noticed after around 2 weeks of starting Valturna treatment. As this medicine is not a cure for high blood pressure and can only keep it under control, you may have to take it for your entire life.
