Description of Nalfon
Nalfon is an effective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). The generic name of this drug is Fenoprofen. This drug is administered orally. You can buy Nalfon online in form of oral capsules in following strengths: Nalfon 200 mg and Nalfon 400 mg.
The main nonmedical ingredients present in Nalfon 200 mg oral tablets are: cellulose, titanium dioxide, silicone, iron oxides, and gelatin. The main nonmedical ingredients present in Nalfon 400 mg oral tablets are: gelatin, iron oxide yellow, sodium lauryl sulfate, titanium dioxide, FD&C Blue 1, FD&C Red 40, magnesium stearate, crospovidone, and talc.
Indications & Dosage of Nalfon
Nalfon is indicated for the treatment of inflammation, pain, or swelling due to arthritis. This drug is also used for treating menstrual cramps, bursitis, and tendinitis. This drug works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, a naturally-occurring chemical that causes inflammation.
For the treatment of mild/moderate pain the recommended dosage is Nalfon 200 mg administered orally every 4-6 hours. For the treatment of arthritis the recommended dosage is Nalfon 400 mg to Nalfon 600 mg administered orally 3-4 times a day. Depending on your response to the drug, your doctor may increase or decrease your dosage. The maximum daily dosage is 3200 mg.
You should take Nalfon with milk or food to avoid epigastric distress. Nalfon oral capsules should be stored at 20°-30°C.
Side Effects & Interactions of Nalfon
Consult your doctor immediately if you experience hypersensitivity after taking Nalfon. Symptoms that indicate hypersensitivity reaction are facial flushness, hives, swelling of the face, wheezing, difficulty breathing or swallowing.
Other serious side effects associated with Nalfon may include the following:
- Slurred speech, weakness, vision problems, shortness of breath, chest pain
- Dark urine or stools, yellow eyes or skin, stomach pain, nausea, loss of appetite
- tremors, confusion
- Muscle weakness, numbness, bruising, severe tingling
- Bleeding, pain, or burning sensation while passing urine
Less severe side effects associated with Nalfon may include: ringing in the ears, blurred vision, nervousness, gas, bloating, diarrhea, mild stomach ache, constipation, or dry mouth.
Your risk to easy bleeding or bruising may increase if you take antidepressants like duloxetine, fluvoxamine, citalopram, escitalopram, venlafaxine, sertraline, or paroxetine along with Nalfon.
Other drugs that may interact with Nalfon include the following:
- Diuretics
- Other NSAIDs
- Blood thinners
- Steroids
- Sulfa drugs
- Oral antidiabetic medications

Warnings & Precautions of Nalfon
