Naftin Information
Naftin is an anti-fungal drug which is an allylamine. It is used for topical use only, in the form of a cream or a gel. The drug is used for treating tinea cruris, tinea pedis and tinea corporis, which is caused due to various organisms. The precise mechanism of the action of this generic drug is not clearly known. However, the drug is supposed to inhibit the squalene 2, 3-epoxidase enzyme. Thus, the drug may interfere with the biosynthesis of sterol and decrease the amount of sterol (especially ergosterol).
