Description of Megace
Megace is the brand name for megestrol, which is a synthesized form of progesterone, a natural female hormone. This particular medication is known to increase appetite in most people. You can buy Megace in the form of a 40mg table or an oral suspension solution with lemon flavor. Each ml of the Megace suspension contains megestrol 40mg. Other inactive ingredients used in this suspension include alcohol, lemon-lime flavor, sodium citrate and benzoate and polyethylene glycol. You must consult your doctor before buying this drug.
Indications & Dosage of Megace
Megace is indicated for treating cachexia, anorexia and significant and unusual weight loss in HIV/AIDS patients. Megace is also indicated as part of treatment for advanced endometrial and breast cancer. Your doctor may also prescribe Megace for other medical conditions.
Your doctor would determine the dosage and duration of treatment with Megace. You must never take Megace in a dose larger than what was prescribed, as it may result in an overdose.
