Description of Luveris
Luveris is a hormonal medicine that has the generic name lutropin alfa. You can buy Luveris as part of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) therapy.
Luveris is used along with another hormonal medicine - follitropin alfa - for stimulating the follicle and making it develop and mature. FSH therapy is recommended for women who want to become pregnant and whose ovaries are capable of releasing an egg (follicle), but lack the hormonal stimulation for making it grow and mature.
Indications & Dosage of Luveris
Luveris must be used strictly as per your doctor’s prescription. Never take a larger dose of this drug, as it may cause potential dangerous side effects. Luveris injected subcutaneously into the body. The first dosage may be given in a hospital or office setting, but you may also be instructed by your doctor on how to administer Luveris on your own. In any case, you must not try to self-administer Luveris unless you are absolutely clear about the injection process and the proper method of disposing the medical supplies later.
You may find Luveris in the form of a vial. If you buy Luveris in a vial, you must be careful not to shake it before administration.
