Description of Kogenate FS
Kogenate FS is used to control and prevent bleeding, especially in patients with hemophilia A. It is a man-made clotting factor. The generic name of the drug is Antihemophilic Factor.
You must buy Kogenate FS only as per the prescription of your doctor. Read the instructions on the patient leaflet carefully. It is an injection administered by a doctor, nurse or an experienced health practitioner in a hospital set up or clinic. Less serious side effects of Kogenate FS are:
- Dizziness and drowsiness
- Flushing
- Lightheadedness
- Nausea and vomiting
- Mild itching, pain and irritation at the site of injection
- Mild fever and chills
Serious side effects of Kogenate FS are:
- Tightness in the chest
- Swelling of the face, mouth, tongue and lips
- Cough and chest pain
- Fainting
- New or worsening bleeding or bruising
- Persistent fever and chills
- Severe allergic reactions such as rashes and hives
- Wheezing and shortness of breath
- Sore throat
- Persistent dizziness and drowsiness
You must stop the medication and contact your doctor at the earliest possible time if the serious side effects persist.
