Description of Kerlone
Kerlone is used to treat hypertension also known as high blood pressure. It is a beta-adrenergic blocking agent. The generic name of the medicine is Betaxolol.
You must buy Kerlone only as per the instructions of your doctor. The tablet must be taken orally with a full glass of water. You can take the drug with or without food. The tablet must not be crushed or chewed. Avoid taking an antacid that contains aluminum within two hours of the administration of Kerlone. You must take the tablet at the same time everyday to get the best results.
Indications & Dosage of Kerlone
Kerlone slows down the activities of the heart by reducing the workload on it. It also reduces blood pressure and thus helps in the efficient pumping of blood to the heart. The drug also acts on some chemicals in the brain such as adrenalin and reduces migraine headaches. Kerlone is supplied in the form of 10 mg white, round, film-coated tablets.
The dosage of Kerlone depends on various factors such as the medical condition of the patient and response to treatment. The initial dosage for hypertension is 10 mg once a day. The desired results should be seen in 7 to 14 days. If the results are not seen, the dosage should be doubled (only as directed by your physician). However, the dosage should not exceed 20 mg a day. You must take the dose on time. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Don’t take a double dose of Kerlone. The symptoms of an overdose are lightheadedness, shortness of breath, swelling of the ankles, wheezing, unconsciousness and slow heartbeat. Seek immediate medical attention in case of overdose.
Kerlone must be kept at room temperature between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. Keep it away from moisture, direct light and heat. Make sure that it is kept away from the reach of children.
