General Information On Isopto-Carbochol
Isopto-Carbochol is indicated in the treatment of ocular hypertension (high pressure in the eye). Some eye diseases including glaucoma induce high pressure in the eye which can lead to vision loss, nerve damage, and blindness. The medication is specifically prescribed to lower the pressure within the eye and prevent damages caused by such conditions.
Carbachol, the main active ingredient in Isopto-Carbochol , belongs to a group of medicines known as parasympathomimetics. It works by increasing the flow of aqueous humor, which helps reduce pressure within the eye.
Isopto-Carbochol is available in the form of an ophthalmic solution. It is supplied in two different concentrations- Isopto-Carbochol 1.5% and Isopto-Carbochol 3.0%, with a 1.5% and 3.0% concentration of the active ingredient Carbachol respectively.

Side effects of Isopto-Carbochol
Isopto-Carbochol may cause mild to severe side effects in some people. Dosage of Isopto-Carbochol

The recommended dose for adults and children for the treatment of glaucoma is one drop of Isopto-Carbochol in the eye, 1-3 times daily. Your doctor may recommend a different dose.

Isopto-Carbochol may potentially interact with other medicines you are using and cause side effects.
