Effient is a platelet inhibitor drug. It is used for reducing the rate of cardiovascular (CV) thrombotic events. This is desired in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The generic drug is used for patients with angina (unstable) or patients with NSTEMI (non-ST elevation myocardial infarction).
