Description of Compazine
Compazine is a medication with the generic name Prochlorperazine. It belongs to a group of medicines known as Phenothiazines. Compazine is available in different forms, which includes a tablet for oral use, a sustained release tablet formulation (known as Spansule) for oral use, a vial for injection, a suppository for rectal use, and syrup for oral use. The tablet is supplied in two strengths such as Compazine 5mg and 10mg. The sustained release capsule is also supplied in two strengths, Compazine Spansule 10mg and 15mg. Indications & Dosage of Compazine
Compazine is indicated in the treatment of psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia. It is also used to control severe vomiting, nausea and anxiety.

Side Effects & Interactions of Compazine

The less serious side effects associated with Compazine include: swelling in your feet or hands, impotence, dizziness, constipation, drowsiness, breast discharge or swelling, dry mouth, anxiety, blurred vision, insomnia, mild itching, trouble having an orgasm, stuffy nose, weight gain, or skin rash.
