Description of Capozide
Capozide tablets are meant for oral administration. The drug is a combination of two antihypertensive agents; one being captopril (Capoten) and the other, hydrochlorothiazide. Captropril is an antihypertensive agent that acts as a specific competitive inhibitor of the angiotensin I-converting enzyme. Hydrochlorothiazide on the other hand is a benzothiadiazide diuretic-antihypertensive agent.
The inactive ingredients in Capozide are lactose, magnesium, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, pregelatinized starch and colorant. It is available in four combinations of captopril and hydrochlorothiazide; 25 mg with 15 mg, 25mg with 25 mg, 50 mg with 15 mg, and 50 mg with 25 mg.
Indications & Dosage of Capozide
Most patients are asked to buy Capozide to treat hypertension. This medicine is addictive, and it is administered either as initial therapy or as the substation to single doses of the two drugs used in Capozide. When the combination of the agents’ captopril and hydrocholorothiazide are administered, it may not be necessary to administer captopril in divided doses to achieve a controlled blood pressure level. It should also be remembered that during the course of such a combination of doses, a 15 mg dose of hydrochlorothiazide may be adequate. Thereafter, treatment may be administered through a 25 mg/15 mg Capozide tablet once daily.
The dosage of Capozide tablets should be based on the patient’s response. If there is an insufficient response, the patient may be administered a 25 mg/15 mg Capozide tablet once daily. If the response is still inadequate, the dosage may be increased to 50 mg/15 mg, 25 mg/25 mg or 50 mg/25 mg tablets respectively.
The effects of the dose are generally achieved in 6-8 weeks, so any changes in the dosage should be made after 6 week intervals, unless it is clinically necessary. Capozide tablets should be taken one hour before meals.

Warnings & Precautions of Capozide
It is important to remember before you buy Capozide that both captopril and hydrochlorothiazides pass into milk. They have a potential of causing irreparable damage to unborn infant. Due to the various known side effects of this drug, it should also be adjudged whether the benefits of administering the drug are higher than the potential risks to both the mother and the fetus. Thiazides can cross the placental barrier and may cause fetal and neo-natal injury with a high risk of death. Also, patients with renal conditions should be monitored before and after Capozide is administered to them. Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established, so it is advisable to monitor such patients extensively before administering Capozide to them.
