Description of Biltricide
Biltricide is used to treat infections caused due to certain parasites. It belongs to a class of drugs known as anthelmintic. The generic name of the medicine is Praziquantel.
You can buy Biltricide in the form of a tablet. The drug must be taken orally along with or after food. Don’t chew or crush the tablet, because the bitter taste may cause gagging and vomiting. Swallow Biltricide tablets with a full glass of water. All tablets are scored with lines. You will have to break the tablet according to the dosage. Indications & Dosage of Biltricide
Biltricide is used to treat infections caused due to parasites like Schistosoma and liver flukes. The drug paralyzes the parasites, thereby hampering their effect on the blood vessels. It also kills the parasites.
The recommended dosage of Biltricide is 3 tablets (20 mg/kg) per day at a 4-6 hours interval. Sometimes, your doctor may ask you to take the tablets less than three times a day or just once a day. The dosage of Biltricide depends on your weight, medical condition, and response to treatment. Try to take the tablet at the same time every day. You can take a missed dose of Biltricide if you forgot to take it. However, do not take the missed dose if it is already time for the next one. Don’t take an overdose of Biltricide. If you don’t find any change in your medical condition during treatment, inform your doctor.
You should not consume grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while using Biltricide. You must also not drive or operate machinery after administering the drug, as it may impair your thinking and reaction time. Store the tablets at room temperature below 30 degrees Celsius, and away from heat and moisture. Keep Biltricide away from the reach of children.

Serious side effects of Biltricide are:
- Tightness in the chest
- Severe allergic reactions like rashes and hives
- Fever
- Diarrhea
- Persistent vomiting
- Seizure
- Irregular heartbeat
- Swelling of the face, mouth and lips
If the serious side effects persist for a long time, consult your doctor.
Biltricide may interact with the following drugs:
- Rifampin
- Phenytoin
- Phenobarbital
- Carbamazepine
- Dexamethasone
- Itraconazole
- Erythromycin

Warnings & Precautions of Biltricide
You must not use Biltricide if you have:
