Betoptic S Information
When used in the form of an ophthalmic solution, Betoptic S is indicated for treating increased intra-ocular pressure (that is IOP) in patients who have ocular hypertension (or open angle glaucoma). The generic drug is a blocker of beta1 receptor. It shows selective affinity towards the receptors and therefore has much less systemic side-effects. This is the reason why it is preferred over other ophthalmic solutions. The drug acts by decreasing the synthesis of aqueous humor in the eyes. The decrease in the fluid in the eyes in-turn reduces the IOP which helps in reducing the risk of damage to the optic nerves. Discount Betoptic S can be bought with a doctor’s prescription.
