Description of Aviane
Aviane is a birth control drug that uses a combination of two synthetically produced female hormones- ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel. These two hormones stop the process of ovulation, in which an egg is released by the ovary. Apart from this, Aviane also changes the uterine lining and cervical mucus. This makes it difficult for a fertilized egg to bind with the uterus and sperm to reach the egg, respectively. You can buy Aviane as a hormonal contraceptive for preventing an unwanted pregnancy.
Indications & Dosage of Aviane
Aviane is available as a 28-tablet pack. Each tablet contains 0.02mg ethinyl estradiol and 0.10mg levonorgestrel. You must take Aviane exactly as per your doctor’s instructions. Do not take a dose larger than what has been prescribed for you. The first Aviane tablet is usually taken on the first day of the menstrual period or the first Sunday after the onset of the period.
You may have to use other non-hormonal forms of birth control during the early stages of Aviane usage. This would include using spermicide and condoms. Aviane contains 21 orange colored tablets. These tablets need to be taken for 21 days, one for each day. After these tablets have been consumed, you must take the remaining 7 green colored tablets for one week, with one tablet for each day.
Aviane may cause breakthrough bleeding during the initial 3 months of use. While this is usually mild, you must contact your doctor if it becomes heavy or continues for over 3 months. You must only take one pill a day. Each tablet must be separated by an interval of 24 hours.
