Aromasin Information
Aromasin is a drug that is steroidal aromatase-inhibitor. It is used as an adjuvant therapy in treating post-menopausal women with breast cancer. The drug is used in post-menopausal women who have estrogen-receptor positive breast cancer (early). Generic medicine is effectively used for women with breast cancer who have already received a treatment with tamoxifen for a 2 to 3 year period and have not responded to the treatment satisfactorily. The patients switch to this adjuvant therapy for completing a 5 year consecutive hormonal therapy for treating breast cancer. Aromasin Side Effects and Precautions
Exemestane is a drug that may lead to allergic reactions after the treatment has begun. These reactions that you may experience are hives, swelling of the lips, mouth, throat or tongue and difficulty in breathing. If you have one or more of the allergic reaction(s) with Examestane, then immediately consult your physician.
Serious side effects of the drug are chest pain, sudden weakness/ numbness, confusion, sudden headache or problems with speech, vision or balance. Exemestane may also result in serious effects such as swelling in hands/ feet, fracture of a bone in the body, swollen gland(s) or shortness in breath, even if you have mild exertion.
