Indications & Dosage of Androcur
Androcur is an oral medication used for treating prostate cancer. The drug works by blocking the effects of testosterone hormone, causing a reduction in its production in the testicles. Testosterone is essential for the growth of cancer cells.
You can buy Androcur in 50mg and 100mg strengths. Your doctor will recommend you to take Androcur 200 to 300mg per day, taken two or three times a day. If you have gone through orchiectomy and have got your testicles removed, you will be given Androcur 100 to 200mg per day.
Take Androcur after food.
The medicine is also available in the form of an injection. You will receive one Androcur 300mg injection per week, given into your muscle.
