Acuvail Information
Acuvail is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent. It is a ketorolac formulation. It is used as an ophthalmic solution and is for topical use only. The eye drops are used for the treatment of inflammation and pain that is caused by a cataract surgery. It helps in reducing the burning sensation, pain, swelling or stinging that a patient may experience after a cataract surgery. The generic eye drops contains a viscous molecule which helps the adherence of the drug to the surface (of the eyes). The drug then inhibits the enzymes COX-1 and COX-2 which block the PG (prostaglandin) release. The discount Acuvail is obtained with a doctor’s prescription.
Acuvail Side Effects and Precautions
Less serious (or common) side effects of Ketorolac are headache, mild stinging/ burning/ itching in the eyes, puffy eye lids or swollen eye lids. You may also experience allergic reactions upon administering the eye drops. These allergic reactions associated with Acuvail may include difficult breathing, hives or swelling in the lips/ tongue/ throat/ face.
Serious adverse effects of the drug are white patches on the eyes, drainage from the eyes, crusting of the eyes, watering/ reddening of the eyes, eye pain or severe stinging/ itching/ burning of the eyes. Ketorolac may also lead to changes in vision or increase in sensitivity to light (increased photosensitivity). If you are allergic to the drug (or its contents) then do not buy Acuvail without doctor’s advice.
