Q: How does it work for refill orders?

AD: To order refills, all you need to do is contact us at our toll free phone number, or access your account online by clicking here.

No other information is needed unless there has been a change in your address, health condition, in the strengths or quantities of the medications you're taking, or in the method of payment.

Once a prescription has expired, it will be necessary to provide a copy of the new prescription issued by your doctor.

Q: Is a prescription required?

AD: Yes. Just like your local pharmacy, we require a valid prescription from your physician licensed to practice in your area of residence.

Q: How much medication can I buy?

AD: Due to strict regulations you are allowed to purchase 3 months worth of medication for personal use.

Any amount above this 3-month limit is not considered "personal use". If your physician writes a prescription for more than 3 months supply, then we can fill those refills as they come due.

In order to guarantee everyday low prices on your prescription medications, first-time and refill orders must total at least $50 before the shipping and handling fee.

Q: How long will my order take to process?

AD: Your first order with AffordableDrugs can take up to 14 days to process once we have received your completed Patient Registration Form and valid prescription. Refill orders are also processed within 14 days.

Q: What can slow down the process of my order?

AD: At AffordableDrugs, our goal is to get your medications processed within 2 weeks, and up to 1 week for shipping. Sometimes, this process can be slowed down slightly if

A) There are delays in receiving a copy of the prescription from you or your doctor, and we have to contact your doctor or pharmacy to get a copy of the prescription

B) The Patient Registration Form is inaccurate or incomplete. Your order will be processed faster if you complete the Patient Registration Form online

C) There are delays due to Credit Card failure: we have to contact you to make sure the problem is solved.

D) Delay due to Rx problem (quantity, dosage, etc...): we have to make the appropriate changes and then have to contact you to make sure we can fulfill the order.

Q: What is the quality standard of medications sold at AffordableDrugs?

AD: The Canadian government has very strict requirements for the manufacturing of drugs, which meet or exceed FDA drug safety standards. Some of the drugs sold in Canada are actually manufactured in the US and are repackaged for sale in Canada. Generic medications are all manufactured in Canada under the Canadian Health authority’s (Health Canada) stringent requirements. Canada's health system is known to be among the best in the world.

Q: Are all drugs available?

AD: Not all drugs are available at our pharmacies. For instance, we legally cannot ship any refrigerated products, such as insulin. However, AffordableDrugs carries the large majority of medications available, more than 2500 brand name and generic drugs.

Q: How can I pay?

AD: AffordableDrugs makes it easy to pay for your prescription drugs. We accept Visa, MasterCard, or by cheque. Note that cheques take longer to process than Visa or MasterCard, which can delay your delivery.

Q: Why do we charge your Credit Card before shipping?

AD: Most ordering companies such as Amazon charge the order prior to shipping. However we will only bill you once your order is ready to go.

Q: Are there any other charges besides the drugs?

AD: The shipping charges are $14.79 USD per package (not per drug) for prescription items. We encourage families to order at the same time and save on the cost of shipping.

Q: Will you accept my insurance?

AD: Unfortunately, we cannot accept insurance coverage. However, you will be given a receipt so that you can file an insurance claim.

Q: What is the difference between generic drugs and brand name drugs?

AD: A generic drug is a medication for which the manufacturer's patent protection has lapsed. As a result of this, other manufacturers are allowed to produce and sell the exact medication at a lower, more competitive price. The generic drug is exactly the same medication as the original brand name drug, simply manufactured by another company. Due to strict regulations on the generic drug industry, these drugs must provide the same therapeutic effect as the brand name drug.

Q: What is your privacy policy regarding my personal information?

AD: AffordableDrugs and its affiliated Canadian pharmacy maintain the highest professional standards regarding the confidentiality of patient information. AffordableDrugs and its affiliated Canadian pharmacy will not release or otherwise share any prescription, personal, medical, or financial information with anyone other than the reviewing Canadian physician, the customer to whom the information pertains or the physician who prescribed the medications ordered without the expressed written consent of the patient. AD: AffordableDrugs will accept returns only in cases that the pharmacy ships a medication that does not correspond with your prescription.

Q: How do I know if my medical and personal information is secure?

AD: Your safety and security is our number one priority. We treat your personal medical information like any health plan would. Your records are completely confidential. All access to your prescription file and medical history is limited to our licensed pharmacists, your physician and our licensed physician who reviews your file for possible drug interactions or allergic reactions. We do not share this information with third parties.
