Zebeta belongs to a class of drugs called beta blockers that affect the heart and blood circulation.

Zebeta is indicated for the treatment of hypertension or high blood pressure. Controlled blood pressure further helps prevent heart attacks, strokes, and kidney troubles.
How does Zebeta work?
Zebeta works by blocking the action of certain natural chemicals in the body, namely, epinephrine on the heart and blood vessels and thus, effectively lowering the heart rate, blood pressure and strain on the heart.
How to use Zebeta
Take Zebeta the way it was prescribed by the doctor. Do not consume it for more than the recommended duration or quantity.
The medicine is generally taken once daily, with a full glass of water. It can be taken with or without food; however, it is better to take it on a partly full stomach. Remember to take it at the same time every day.
Zebeta warnings and precautions
Do not take Zebeta if you are allergic to any of its ingredients or if you have any other allergies. Do not use it if you have certain kinds of heart rhythm disorders or severe heart failure.
Before starting this medication, consult your doctor if you have a medical history of asthma, bronchitis and emphysema; liver or kidney diseases, hyperthyroidism, allergic reactions to epinephrine; blood circulatory disorders like Raynaud’s disease and peripheral vascular disease; neurological or psychological disorders, or myasthenia gravis.
Check your sugar levels each day if you are a diabetic and consult with your doctor about your condition.
Abstain from smoking and drinking as far as possible while you are under this medication. Do not undertake any task that requires attention and alertness after consuming this medicine.
Pregnant women should take Zebeta only if it is an emergency and nursing mothers must consult the doctor before taking it.
What do I do if I have missed a Zebeta dose?
If you have missed a Zebeta dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue the routine.
What do I do if I have taken a Zebeta overdose?
If you have taken an overdose of Zebeta, consult your doctor.
Zebeta interactions
Some medicines might interact when used in tandem with Zebeta. These include, cough and cold medicines, diet aids, ibuprofen, digitalis, clonidin, guanethidine, rifampin, disopyramide, insulin and other oral diabetes medications; other beta-blockers such as atenolol, carvedilol, labetalol, metoprolol, nadolol, propranolol, sotalol; heart medications such as nifedipine, reserpine, verapamil, diltiazem; medicines for asthma such as pirbuterol, metaproterenol, terbutaline, albuterol, and bitolterol.
Tell your doctor about all the medicines that have been prescribed for your health, before using Zebeta. If you are using herbal products, inform your doctor with immediate effect. This will help your doctor learn the exact condition of your health and prescribe the dose that will benefit you the most.
Zebeta side effects
Tiredness, slow heartbeat, and dizziness are some of the most common Zebeta side effects. If any of these persist, inform the doctor promptly.
Inform your doctor immediately if any of the unlikely but serious side effects from Zebeta occur. These include very slow heartbeat, severe dizziness, blue fingers, breathing trouble, shortness of breath, swelling of feet and ankles, severe tiredness, unexplained and sudden weight gain, confusion, mood swings and depression.
Seek immediate medical help if you notice rash, itching and swelling of the face, tongue and throat. These side effects of Zebeta must never be ignored.
