What is Tapazole?

What is Tapazole used for?

Tapazole is indicated for the treatment of hyperthyroidism. It is also given to prepare the patients for thyroid surgery or radioactive iodine therapy.

How does Tapazole work?

Tapazole works by restricting excess production of thyroid hormone, thereby relieving the patients from the symptoms of hyperthyroidism.

How to use Tapazole

Abide by the instructions of your physician regarding the dosage of Tapazole, as the dosages differ according to your medical condition.

Usually Tapazole is instructed to be taken three times a day, orally, each after a minimum gap of eight hours.

Remember to take this medicine at the same time each day and make sure you take it regularly till the full prescription time. It is advised not to experiment with the frequency and intensity of the doses, as it will alter the predicted benefits of the drug during your treatment.

Tapazole warnings and precautions

Discuss your medical history with your physician so that it is easier for him to direct you accurate dosage.

Let your physician know especially if you have been or are suffering from kidney, liver, heart or blood-related disorders, while you are prescribed Tapazole.

Caution and a prior medical recommendation are suggested in case of pregnant and lactating women, children and older patients.

Also, avoid driving, operating any heavy machinery and doing any other attention-demanding activity after your Tapazole dose, as it can make you feel dizzy.

What do I do if I have missed a Tapazole dose?

If you have missed your Tapazole dose, you should take the missed one right away. Skip the missed dose if it is nearly time for your next dose, but do not take two doses to compensate the missed one.

What do I do if I have taken a Tapazole overdose?

If you have taken a Tapazole overdose, you should ask your doctor at once and it is recommended not to try any antidote on your own.

Tapazole interactions
