What is Suprefact Depot used for?

Suprefact is indicated for the treatment of prostate cancer. It is also used in the treatment of endometriosis (a condition caused by growth of extra tissue inside or outside uterus).

How does Suprefact Depot work?

Suprefact helps treat prostate cancer by reducing the amount of testosterone in the blood. It helps treat endometriosis by decreasing the amount of estrogen in the blood.

How to use Suprefact Depot

Take Suprefact the way it was prescribed by the doctor. Do not consume it for more than the recommended duration or quantity.

For treatment of prostate cancer, Suprefact is injected under the skin every 8 hours for 1 week. It is followed by maintenance therapy with injection once daily or 2 sprays into each nostril thrice daily.

For treatment of endometriosis, Suprefact is usually used as a nasal solution. 2 sprays are sprayed into each nostril thrice every day. This continues for six months or as directed by the doctor.

While using the medicine in injection form, make sure you dispose of the used syringes in a puncture proof container. Do not dispose of the medication in wastewater or in household garbage. Follow your pharmacist’s directions on how to properly dispose of the medication that has expired or is no longer needed.
