What is Kenalog Spray?

How to use Kenalog Spray

The dosage, schedule, length of treatment and injection site depends on your medical condition and response to treatment.

Kenalog may be injected intramuscularly (into muscles), intradermally (into a skin lesion), intra-articularly (in a joint). The injection should be given by a trained professional. To treat inflammation of joints, arthritis, epicondylitis, bursitis it is injected in joints and to treat autoimmune diseases such as lupus, psoriasis it is injected in the soft tissues.

The medication should not be stopped unless instructed by your doctor.

Kenalog is not administered to patients who are allergic to corticosteroids or to those who suffer from a condition known as idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP).

Long-term usage of the medication can lead to osteoporosis. Also, growth of children and adolescents should be monitored when undergoing treatment with Kenalog as corticosteroids may inhibit growth.

Pregnant and lactating women are advised to discuss the possible risks and benefits of taking Kenalog with their respective doctors. Also, inform your doctor if you plan a pregnancy during treatment.
