What is Desyrel?

What is Desyrel used for?

How does Desyrel work?

Desyrel works by augmenting the activity of a chemical in the brain, namely serotonin, altering the mood and the way in which the body experiences pain and certain emotions.

How to use Desyrel

Strictly follow the directions given by your doctor and if still in doubt about the dosage of Desyrel, check with the instruction leaflet enclosed within.

Desyrel can be taken after a light meal or snacks. Start by taking low doses and gradually increase, if need arises. Similarly, lower the dosage according to the condition. There is a probability that the medicine might take around 4 weeks to start working. Do not stop taking the drug without the doctor’s recommendation.

For best results, take Desyrel regularly without a miss.

Before going for a dental or any other treatment or surgery, make sure the medical practitioner knows that you are under the medication of Desyrel.

As elders are more sensitive to its effects, so be careful in such a case. Also, the safety and effectiveness of Desyrel on children below the age of 6 years has not yet been confirmed, therefore avoid using it on children.

Desyrel is said to cause drowsiness and the effect can worsen with the intake of alcohol. Thus, try and avoid liquor. Also, do not perform any attention-demanding activities.

Pregnant and lactating women must consult their doctor before taking this medication.
