What is Condylox?

Condylox belongs to the class of drugs known as antimitotics. It is for topical use only.

What is Condylox used for?

Condylox is used to inhibit the genital warts on the outside skin of vagina and penis. Condylox gel is also used to stall genital warts that appear on the skin between the genitals and the rectum.

How does Condylox work?

Condylox works by preventing the growth and development of certain kinds of cells in a human body. It stops the growth of the wart and the wart eventually falls off.

How to use Condylox

Use Condylox as per the instructions of your doctor. Do not use it in smaller or larger amounts or for longer than prescribed duration. Always wash your hands before using this medication and apply it on clean and dry area of your skin.

Apply Condylox solution with the help of cotton applicator or with your fingers and avoid its contact with the unaffected area of your skin. Dispose of the used applicator after applying the gel. If you are applying the gel on the skin fold, let the affected skin dry before releasing the skin fold.

The gel is usually applied for 3 days in a row, in the morning or evening time. Do not apply it for rest of the 4 days in the week. This weekly treatment should be repeated 4 times or until you completely get relief from genital warts. Wash your hands properly after using this gel.

Condylox warnings and precautions

Do not use Condylox, if you are sensitive to Podofilix.

If you are pregnant, you are advised not to use this medication. If you are planning to conceive or are breast feeding, discontinue use and consult the doctor.

Condylox does not prevent the spread of the infection through anal, vaginal or oral sex. Therefore, remember that it is not a protection against sexually transmitted diseases, so make use of external precautions during sexual intercourse.

Using Condylox solution on other infected areas except areas with warts, without the suggestion of your doctor could be harmful. Remember, this medication should not come in contact with your eyes. Also, do not apply the gel on the areas like internal parts of vagina, urethra or rectum.

What do I do if I have missed a Condylox dose?

If you have missed your Condylox dose, you should use it as soon as you remember. You can skip the missed dose if it’s time to take the next one. But do not apply extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.

What do I do if I have taken a Condylox overdose?

If you have taken a Condylox overdose, you should seek the help of your local medical emergency room.
