Cerefolin NAC (Cerefolin)

Cerefolin NAC
Cerefolin NAC

What is Cerefolin NAC?

Cerefolin NAC is a nutritional supplement.

What is Cerefolin NAC used for?

Cerefolin NAC is used in patients who have neurovascular oxidative stress or are facing high levels of homocysteine in their blood. There might be some other conditions as well for which this medicine is used. Your doctor will let you know about the same.

How does Cerefolin NAC work?

Cerefolin NAC works by acting as a supplement in the daily nutrition of a person and providing the body with Vitamin B12, folate and one form of antioxidant. This in turn helps in reducing and eliminating the oxidative stress and the level of homocysteine.

How to use Cerefolin NAC

Cerefolin NAC is to be used according to the doctor’s instructions. It is also advised that you check the medicine label prior to consuming the medicine so that you know the correct method of dosage administration. You can take Cerefolin NAC with or without food and with a glass of water. If you have any other questions regarding your dosage, ask your healthcare provider or your pharmacist about the same.

Cerefolin NAC warnings and precautions

There are certain conditions wherein one should not use Cerefolin NAC. If you have faced allergic reactions to any of the ingredients in Cerefolin NAC, tell your doctor about it.

Also, let him know if you are pregnant, lactating or planning to conceive. If your doctor has advised you to take other medicines, it is important to know if it will form the right combination with Cerefolin NAC or not. Tell him about your medical history including kidney stones, ulcers, liver problems and anemia, beforehand.

What do I do if I have missed a Cerefolin NAC dose?

If you have missed a dose of Cerefolin NAC, take it when you get to remember about it. If it is almost time to take the next dose, skip the missed dose as a double dose may have negative effects on you.

What do I do if I have taken a Cerefolin NAC overdose?

If you have taken an overdose of Cerefolin NAC, get in touch with your doctor immediately.

Cerefolin NAC interactions

Some of the medicines can interact with Cerefolin NAC and may cause allergic reactions as well. Let your doctor know if you are taking any antibiotics, colchicines, metformin, cholestyramine, nitrous oxide, colestipol, para-aminosalicylic acid, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, sulfasalazine or potassium chloride. This is because the effectiveness of Cerefolin NAC may decrease a bit with these medicines.

Medicines that can increase the side effects of Cerefolin NAC are barbiturates, fluorouracil or nitrates, valproic acid, carbamazepine, hydantoins, pyrimethamine and primidone.

Tell your doctor about all prescription and non prescription drugs that you use. Do not start taking any new medicine on your own, without telling your doctor.

Cerefolin NAC side effects

Not everyone has to face the side effects from Cerefolin NAC. While there are some common side effects, some of them are even rarely found among the people who consume the medicine. Common side effects of Cerefolin NAC include headache, diarrhea, bloating, and fever, nausea, vomiting and itching. If you face any of the conditions, let your doctor know about it. Signs of allergic reaction of Cerefolin NAC include rashes, tightness in chest, side or lower back pain, hives and swelling of tongue, face or lips.
