Bambec belongs to a class of medicines called selective b2 -agonists (beta- agonists, beta-adrenoceptor stimulants).
What is Bambec used for?
Bambec is used to treat conditions like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and breathing difficulties. This medicine is effective in treating conditions like shortness of breath and other conditions that come forth due to asthma. However, it is to be noted that Bambec cannot help in treating an asthma attack that has already started.

How to use Bambec
Bambec is to be taken in individual dosage and the directions of the doctor too have to be followed carefully to make sure that the conditions can be treated. Bambec should be taken before you go to bed or whenever your doctor asks you to. The tablets have to be swallowed and not chewed. If you are not able to swallow the medicine as it is, you can divide it into two parts. Bambec should be taken once daily or as prescribed by your physician. The doses will vary according to your medical conditions. Let your doctor know about your medical history so that he can adjust the doses. Children can be given oral solution once a day.
Bambec warnings and precautions
Patients who have moderate to severe impaired renal function should consult their doctors regarding dosing schedule. Myocardial insufficiency or thyrotoxicosis patients too should pay attention to the dosage and should abide by what the doctor says. Go for glucose measurement checks regularly or before you start taking the treatment as Bambec has a hyperglycemic effect on the body. Patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy should not take this medicine.
People with liver cirrhosis have noticed unpredictable inter-individual variation in bambuterol to terbutaline’s metabolism. Patients with cirrhosis and other liver dysfunctions should not use this medicine unless prescribed by the doctor.
What do I do if I have missed a Bambec dose?
If you have missed a Bambec dose, take it as soon as possible and as and when you remember of it. If it is time to take the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue the regular cycle.

If you have taken an overdose of Bambec, contact the doctor as soon as possible.
Bambec interactions
Let your doctor know about the medicines you have been taking. Even when you are taking some herbal medicines, do inform the doctor. If you have to start a new medicine while taking a Bambec treatment, it is important to consult your doctor to make sure that the combination is safe.
You should not take this medicine with beta-blockers like timolol, propranolol and atenolol. If Beta blockers are taken along with Bambec, breathing problems can increase in people who have asthma or COPD. Bambec should also not be taken with corticosteroids, xanthine derivates, diuretics and beta 2 agonists.
Bambec side effects
Some of the common side effects of Bambec are headache, restlessness, difficulty in sleeping, heart palpitations, muscle cramps, narrowing of airways, nausea, low potassium level in blood and hypersensitivity reactions such as throat and tongue swelling up. If you experience any of these side effects, contact your doctor.
